Why packaging quotes
A single box purchase can produce a PDF from one supplier, a spreadsheet from another and a few lines in an email from a third. Each prices a slightly different thing: per box or per thousand, with or without freight, above or below the quantity you need, in B-flute or E-flute. Someone copies it all into a spreadsheet by hand, and the gaps tend to surface after the order is placed.
QuoteMesa does that groundwork: it reads the quotes, lines them up on the same quantity and price basis, and shows exactly where each number came from and what is still missing.
Why corrugated boxes first
Box quotes have a well-defined set of details that change the real cost: inner dimensions, board and flute, print, minimum order, pack multiples, lead time and first-order costs such as print plates and cutting dies. Modelling one category properly is more useful to a buyer than covering every category loosely.
How we build it
- Every extracted value links to the page, cell or paragraph it came from.
- Claude, Anthropic's AI model, reads documents and proposes fields. Arithmetic is done by our own code with exact decimal maths.
- Missing information stays visibly missing. It is never filled in with zero or a guess.
- The comparison informs a decision. Choosing and contacting suppliers stays with the buyer.
